Like the woman at the well who was inspired and changed as she listened to Jesus, we Cooperators are called to be inspired Catholics. After meeting Christ, the woman ran out to tell others about her experiences. Likewise, we Cooperators must stand as witnesses for Christ to the young- who are eager to listen, but also to be heard.

We know why Saint John Bosco’s presence was strong among the young; he showed them understanding and patience, and with the “amazing” power of prayer through the example of his life he was able to bring the teachings of our Lord to the young of his time and ours. In everything he did, Mary was there to intercede, and Jesus was with the two of them every step of the way.

It is the same with us. Like John Bosco, we Cooperators must be present to the young; Don Bosco invited us, and we made our promise! Now he, just like Jesus, invites us to look into the well of our faith, to reach deep and share with others the Good News, to do it in a happy and fervent way bringing joy to the young who are thirsty for knowledge. It is through the Eucharist and by being present to them that they come to know that they are an important part of our church. Jesus comes to them and invites them to be at his side.

As Cooperators we try to inspire by our actions and example. We go “into the deep” of our faith and pull out the best in ourselves for the service of the Lord. It is by following Jesus that we are able to do this. Jesus invites us to join with him in a more personal relationship by listening to his Word, and asking him for guidance and strength.

Now I am asking you, how deep is your well? Are you ready to share it with the world?
